Happy New Year my friends!

Taking a moment to enjoy life is my motto for the weekend....so far, so good!  Didn't go to work today so that was a big plus.  A plus for me physically and mentally but come Monday it'll be back to reality.  Tonight I went to see a movie - The Holiday.  Ladies, this is a must-see.  Loved every bit of the movie. Work is definitely not everything in life and making the time to take a breath of fresh air is absolutely necessary and can be rewarding.  Don't cheat yourself out of all the great things in life by focusing too much on work.  The world will still go on...

On another note, this week I came across an article:

 7 Essential Friends a Gal Must-Have

1) The Conscientious Friend

2) The Cheerleader Friend

3) The Mentor

4) The Platonic Male Friend

5) The Entertainer

6) The Little Sister

7) The Gay guy friend

Which type of friend do you think YOU are??  Do your friends think the same?! hmmmm....

'Tis the Holidays!!!....almost :)

Hello party people!  It's been ages since my last update and 800px-Peanut_9417no, I haven't died from eating Peanuts!  I might have gained a few pounds though...hehhee... Resisting these new found treats is not my strong point anymore..  I have pbbtaken a liking to peanut butter.  I made for the very first time peanut butter cookies and have been enjoying the whole Peanut butter & Banana combo (thx to the suggestion of mlvn).  I hope the whole novelty of this legume will soon fade.  Yes, peanut is a legume...it's NOT a nut!

On to the happenings of the past few months...let's see...work work work.  This morning at church the message really spoke to me.  Juggling the glass & rubber balls.  WorshipWorkLeisureLove.  Which ones are glass and which ones are rubber...time for me to take all that into consideration and reflect.  When I first took this position I promised myself that I wouldn't let it run my life.  I really tried hard at keeping that promise and slowly it started to take more and more of me.  The last few weeks have been really frustrating but I'm taking my life back!!..."NO nominations for you Oscar!!"

Althought work has been in the eating up a lot of my time, I'm glad to make it back to the pottery studio.  I missed it while I was on hiatus (not by choice of course...studying was priority ;p).  You guys should really try it, something about having a block of clay and just being creative is a great stress reliever.    Bowling 044   Bowling 053 Bowling 046 I also finally picked up my sewing machine so I'm challenging myself with some sewing projects.  Next project:  Bench Cushion for the Harjono's.

wicked2Last night was great, we went to go see Wicked the musical.  It was awesome and might I add, it will be added to my list..."toss toss!"  Merry Christmas girlfriends!  IMG_5738 Cynts & Les guys mean so much to me and I'm glad that we got to spend another night together.  We should do this this every year!!...hahhaaa...Brunch at Cora's next weekend?!..hahaa...we'll see :p

Well eventhough we didn't have the greatest seats this was a great night.  Spending time with good friends over dinner and a show is exactly what i needed.  Here's to picture to show you guys the bird's nest I had to see through..hahaa...

Cheers to christmas parties and 3rd time champion for Taboo!!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!!

Now I need a t-shirt that says....

I survived the Peanut Challenge AND....Passed my Registration Exam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, that's right....I passed!!!...I just found out this morning.  All last week while I was in Germany I was worried about it.  Since today was my first day back to work I knew I would probably find an envelope on my desk.  On my drive to work I concluded that if this envelope was a regular business size envelope then the outlook would be bad....but if it was a big envelope there would probably be a certificate inside. .....yes, i prayed for that big envelope.

When i got to work i quickly looked on my desk but nothing....then I went to talk to my staff and then a friend said to me "Congratulation!!"...I said "For What?"...she then went on to tell me that I passed my exam!!  Yes, I screamed & jumped up and down for a while and was in shock.  Apparently a lady at the Board called yesterday and spoke to my friend.  She wanted to let me know that they sent me my certificate for passing but the date was wrong so she just wanted to let me know before I went and got it framed.  My boss later on gave me the BIG envelope with my certificate inside.  Yipee!!!

Thanks to ALL of you who helped me through this crazy time.  Your encouragement, support and prayers truly gave me an extra push.  Love you guys.  All of you.  I guess all that studying paid off.  So now, I can add more letters to the end of my name... :)

well, signing off...

I survived the Peanut Challenge!!

Yea, that's right...i'm allergy free now.  I can eat peanuts!  It's been 27 years without tasting a peanut and today i enjoyed a Reese Peanut Butter Cup!  I went to my Immunologist at 9am and he gave me just a little piece of the PB cup.  Then at intervals, he gave me bigger pieces.  I was there for 3 1/2 hrs.  Eric was with me to keep me entertained and to watch out for any onset of rashes or me motioning that i was suffocating.  Good thing none of that happened.  No more Epipens!!  Sorry guys - no more chances of stabbing me with the needle....The doc says i should eat at least one thing a week with peanuts in it or else my allergy may come back.  I don't think that'll be a problem.

                                         Peanut Challenge 001

This is a whole new world for me, i don't have to look at ingredient lists anymore and don't have to worry if something "may contain nuts".  I'm excited to try new things...chocolate bars, satay, or just plain roasted peanuts!! Please tell me your favourite peanut item - i'm open to suggestions!!

Off on another trip across the world....

...this time not as far as Australia but to Germany!!  I'm leaving in less than 2 days...and i'm excited!!  It's pretty crazy to get an opportunity like this and I'm going to get the most out of it.  I'm just afraid that it's still going to be Oktoberfest there....does it last the whole month!?  We all know I'm not the avid beer drinker and I'm afraid when the Germans take us out, it'll be just beer beer beer!!  Perhaps I won't remember half of my trip!!..hahahaa....  I heard beer is cheaper than water...what about iced tea?!...

Well time to start packing....i'll update when i get back!  Stay tuned for the adventures in Deutschland!!

oktogirl Do you think I'll fit in?!
